Since 1987, Len Reed Construction, Inc. has built more than 190 custom homes in the Upstate of South Carolina’s most desirable communities such as, Carolina Country Club, Woodridge, Four Mile Branch Road, Woodburn Ridge, Landrum, Campobello, Glenn Springs, Pauline, Hawk Creek, Thornhill, Morning Lake, Shadow Lakes, Lake Blalock, Lake Bowen, Oak Creek Plantation, Glen Forest, Lake Forest Hills, Andrews Farm, Calhoun Lakes and others.
Len Reed, a third generation home builder, began building homes as a teenager with his father, H. Cullen Reed Jr., and from there developed an interest in real estate and construction. After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1975 with degrees in Finance and Economics, he returned to Spartanburg to work with Allied Enterprise, a diversified company which owned a real estate company, development company and construction business. In 1977 Reed moved to Reed and Young Realty and Cullen Reed Construction. Two years later Reed was involved in building the spec and custom homes in two successful communities developed by the Reed and Young partnership. Len Reed Construction Company, Inc. was incorporated in 1987 with H. Cullen (Len) Reed, III serving as president.
Upon his induction to the South Carolina Housing Hall of Fame, Reed was honored for his service to the home building industry including “contributions to economic planning and development and the overall quality of life for the citizens throughout Spartanburg County. His influence enabled fellow HBAGS members to be appointed to the commission as well. As a result, affordable housing remains the leading factor in regard to new regulations and ordinances proposed to the commission.”
With over 30 years of successful home building experience, Len Reed is known in the Upstate of South Carolina as a person of integrity, dedicated to quality construction and concern for the customer.
Len has been married to his wife Becky for 37 years. They have 3 wonderful children, 3 adorable grand-children, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and a great son-in-law. Len is an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg.
